community outreach

Ms. Jurista speaks to local families about the similarities and differences in Western and Ayurvedic medical traditions. Elements Massage Therapy supports organizations that help people to participate in their own physical and emotional well-being, both locally and in communities far and wide.

For more information regarding local support for caregivers, conscious stress reduction, or alternative medical consulting/practitioners, please contact Ms. Jurista at LMT@elementsofcaz.com.

In July of 2009, Ms. Jurista joined a group of health Sharing seedlings of important medicinal plants used in traditional Ayurvedic treatments practitioners in Trivandrum, India, to learn more about Ayurveda (Indian Traditional Medicine), which draws on a wide range of prevention and treatment measures, including  nutrition/medicinal herbs, meditation, massage, and yoga.

The group traveled to a nearby village to participate in The Muthashi Project, which researches and documents Malayalee women’s traditional herbal home medicine and nutrition practices as well as the conservation status of the native plants women use for medicines. The project also works to preserve land for medicinal botanicals, funds scholarships for women seeking to learn and practice Ayurveda, and provides free clinical services and meals to local women in need.
